Model United Nations is a student run, student attended simulation of the real United Nations. In an increasingly globalized and interdependent world, MUN provides students with a unique look into the structures of the United Nations as well as an unparalleled horizon-broadening experience.

Center for Civic Engagement

The UNL Center for Civic Engagement encourages students to connect curricular and co-curricular learning with opportunities to address critical human need through service, civic-related research, and social change leadership.

Confucius Institute

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Confucius Institute, in partnership with Xi’an Jiaotong University, is a non-profit public institute with a mission of promoting and teaching Chinese language and culture in Lincoln and the state of Nebraska.

E.N. Thompson Lecture Series

Over the past two decades, the E.N. Thompson Forum on World Issues has established itself as one of the preeminent speakers series in higher education. Past Thompson Forum events have featured, among many others: Mikhail Gorbachev, former president of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics; Maki Mandela, daughter of the former South African president; the Rev. Kennedy Administration Secretary of Defense Robert MacNamara; and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
